The climate is characterised by low to moderate rainfall, which, combined with dry, hot summers and long, cold winters, classifies it as a continental Mediterranean climate. These climatic conditions play a key role in the healthy growth of the vines and the ripening of the grapes.
The soil consists of sandy and clayey sediments, characterised by alternating layers of both limestone and marl.
The authorised grape varieties are: Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Garnacha and Albillo.
